The "SEA FEVER" SEA FEVER is a wonderful example of the short trunk cabin version of the M42. This version focuses the boat on what she was intended for, great day sailing with with reasonable accommodations for an overnight or short cruise. With the better deck layout she carries 1.92% more main and 5.8% more headsail area. This particular M42 is also fitted with a G0 on a furler making her a spirited sailor even in light and moderate conditions. As we listed the boat the owner recorded 7.5 kt in 10 knots of wind; not many boats will do that!

Vessel Walk Thru - The M42 is the outgrowth of the highly successful M36 daysailor. This handsome S&S design has a focus on day sailing but going to the larger version accommodations were expanded as well providing comfort for short cruises.
Accommodations for four in a Herreshoff style interior with varnished Cherry trim on white flat panels with a varnished teak sole. There is an abundance of natural light and ventilation with six large fixed ports a large hatch forward, two smaller hatches aft in the head, and galley area as well as two Dorades. All of the hatches are fitted with Ocean Air blinds and screens. Plenty of artificial lighting with swivel style reading lamps at all berths and settees and overhead dome style lamps in working areas and above the dining table. To extend the season or take the chill off on a foggy morning the yacht has been fitted with Espar diesel cabin heat.
Starting forward is the over 6'-6" V-berth with storage under. Above the berth the hull is lined with varnished cherry ceilings and there are shelves P&S for storage as well. Small bureaus with hanging lockers lockers outboard complete the storage in this area.
The Salon immediately adjoins next aft with 6'-6" settees P&S with tankage and batteries under and storage behind the seat backs as well as in the lockers and shelves above. A full height hanging locker is aft and to port.
An enclosed Head with ensuite shower is next aft to port and also features a Corian topped vanity with Scandvik polished stainless steel sink with H&C pressure water and with two drawers and storage in a locker. The W.C. is a fresh water plumbed Techma electric vacuum flush plumbed to the holding tank.
Opposite to starboard is the modified U-shaped Galley, Corian counter tops with fiddles, gimballed 2 burner Force 10 propane stove with oven, polished Scandvik stainless steel sink with H&C pressure water. A clever addition is a second attachable faucet that allows extension to the cockpit for H&C showers if desired. Storage is in a large full length lockers as well as other lockers and two drawers while chilled food stuffs are ably handled in the top load Isotherm 12 volt refrigeration box outboard.
Up three steps into the Cockpit featuring graciously curved seats P&S with large sail lockers under as well as a seat aft for the helmsman, again with storage under. A large varnished teak pedestal table with storage provides plenty of space to spread luncheon for a large sailing party. Additional storage is under the helmsman's bench seat aft.

Sails & Rigging Hall Spars carbon fiber, 7/8 rigged', Awlgripped double spreader, keel stepped mast, with Navtec rod rigging. This is a shorter house version of the popular M42 providing increased sail area over the standard yacht of this class by 1.92% for the main and 5.8% in the jib making her a notably faster boat than her sisterships. In addition she is equipped with an inner headstay with a G0 making her particularly nimble once cracked off a few degrees.

Construction, Hull and Deck - Fiberglass hull built with vinylester resin and balsa coring using a resin infusion molding process. Finish is Stars and Stripes Blue Awlgrip with Gold Cove Stripe and Cream Boot Stripe. Uniqe to this M42 is that she has been "de-cored" in way of all through hulls. The bottom is finished with Interlux Pacifica black ablative anitfouling. Fiberglass decks with end grain balsa coring with high density foam coring in way of all hardware. The finish is light tan Awlgrip with griptex in all deck areas on Oyster White deck gelcoat. The cockpit is finished out with quarter sawn teak decking.

Manufacturer Provided Description - The Morris Yachts M42 developed out of the tremendous success of her smaller sister, the M36. Retaining all of the great ease of handling features and classic beauty of the M36, the new M42 provides greater interior volume for more luxurious accommodations below and an even larger cockpit with more generous seating. Morris Yachts and the legendary design firm Sparkman and Stephens have once again teamed up to produce a yacht of lasting beauty – a yacht that will grace any harbor and provide her owner with pride of ownership for many years. A comfortable, spacious interior with 6’ 3”standing headroom is finished in classic Herreshoff style with antique white bulkheads and gloss varnished solid cherry joinery. The galley is complete with a gimbaled stove, DC refrigeration, Corian countertop, polished SS sink and hot and cold pressure water. The enclosed head includes an electric Tecma macerating toilet, varnished cherry countertop with a polished SS sink, hot and cold pressurized water, wall mount thermostatically controlled shower and overhead hatch for ventilation in an enclosed shower stall. In the salon, the port and starboard settees are designed for comfortable lounging or sleeping. The cherry drop-leaf table incorporates world class craftsmanship and invites gracious dining. Her generous fractional rig with self-tacking jib makes for a powerful yet remarkably easy to control sail plan. As perfected on the M36, all sheets, main halyard, jib furling line, reef line, and vang control line are led below deck to rope clutches and electric winches located in the cockpit within easy reach of the helms person. The asymmetrical cruising spinnaker is trimmed from self-tailing manual winches outboard of the helm. All of these features allow for comfortable and convenient access to all sail controls for the skipper with lots of cockpit room for family and guest.
