What the press is saying...
Never mind the inflatable buoyancy tubes, the Hunt HBI 30 equipped with teak decking and the lovely stainless-steel/fiberglass T-top is for sure a miniature yacht. She feels solid and planted, as though she were one with the water. Her Yamaha outboards allow normal conversation at a cruising speed of 25 knots, and their response to the smallest input from the throttle levers is precise and immediate. Whether it’s a day of solo adventuring, kayak strapped down in the cockpit, or a day of revelry with 13 of your closest friends, the Hunt HBI 30 is ready when you are. -Yachting HBI was founded in 1988 to improve the state of the art in hard-bottomed inflatable boats by combining an innovative tube attachment system with the proven performance and comfort of a Hunt-designed hull. Hunt and HBI developed a configuration that slightly reduces the size of the tube and places it higher and further outboard than usual. This has several advantages: The spray-suppressing qualities of the Hunt hull shape are allowed full play, and the tube's own spray-blocking properties are improved. (HBI boats are known for their dryness.) The hull's ability to bank in turns is not affected by the tube, and because the tube is out of the water, wetted surface is decreased and speed increased. And finally, wear and tear on the tube is reduced and there is no need to apply anti-fouling paint to the tube. -Ray Hunt Design
