Description
"Vintage" is a nicely maintained sedan cruiser with a crisp, handsome downeast look. This well-designed Cape Dory 36 offers rugged seagoing performance, excellent accommodation, a spacious layout, and just the right amount of luxury to keep you and your guests happy on the water. This boat is an excellent Great Loop boat with her diesel twin screws, secure side decks, and excellent sight lines.
Her knowledgeable owner had a most fitting description: “Vintage has been the stable long range cruising platform that I wanted when I bought it 10 years ago. My daughter and I have cruised the Northeast every year with extended stays at Block Island on the hook. The accommodations, generator, AC, and large galley make it the perfect platform for comfortable cruising at reasonable speed and efficiency. The systems receive regular maintenance and have performed well.”
Power Boat Guide Description
“Economical to operate and easy on the eye, the Cape Dory 36 Flybridge is a Down East-style convertible whose blend of classic lines and spirited, planning-speed performance still hits the sweet spot with boating traditionalists. She rides on a modified-V hull with a solid fiberglass bottom, and a long, prop-protecting keel. The interior of the Cape Dory 36 is dominated by the handcrafted teak cabinets and trim long identified with this builder. A two-stateroom layout with midlevel galley was standard. Featuring large salon cabin windows make the interior seem bigger than it is. The cockpit is big enough for several anglers and their gear offering a transom door and teak covering boards. Additional features include a teak bow pulpit, teak swim platform, wide side decks, and a compact flybridge with the helm forward. Optional 250hp GM 8.2 diesels cruise at 19–20 knots (about 22 knots top).”
Accommodations

Kevin joined East Coast Yacht Sales after having had a successful, nearly three-decade career in yacht brokerage at another upper bracket broker/dealer in New Jersey. Among Kevin's professional distinctions is having served on the Yacht Broker's Association of America Board of Directors, a peer-elected position. Kevin is a Florida-licensed broker and is the only Certified Professional Yacht Broker working in New Jersey.
Kevin grew up in Maryland, sailing out of Annapolis, and has lived aboard, sailed all over the world, delivered boats to and from the Caribbean, and more. His industry contacts are vast. Kevin has sold boats from as far away as Australia and the Med. The 'just right' sailboat, dayboat or motoryacht is out there for most boaters. Kevin will find it for you, or find the right buyer for your boat!
A sailor by nature and practice, Kevin's best skill set may be on display in the galley. Kevin and his wife have travelled extensively, volunteered abroad and here at home, and have studied and sampled multiple cuisines, learning that the best way to appreciate a culture other than one's own is in the galley or kitchen, or around the dining room or cockpit table. When not boating or actively selling boats, Kevin and his wife Joan are either looking after their bees, or growing organic berries and fruits and veggies at their home in Little Silver, New Jersey.
